Welcome to Buckeye Preschool!  

Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year at the Buckeye Elementary School District
(BESD) Preschool! My name is Jessica Talbot, the new Director here at the BESD preschool and
I am thrilled to work alongside you and our team to ignite curiosity and play for this upcoming
year! A little bit about myself is, I am a former parent from BESD preschool, with my 5-year-old
son now off to kindergarten this upcoming year--so my journey isn’t too far off your own!

I am a local to the area, having grown up here, I hold a true love for this community and
am grateful to bring my passion for learning to our school. I hold over 10 years of experience
working with special education and early childhood development across various settings in
Arizona. I have worked in preschool classrooms, in-home settings and outpatient clinics
supporting families and their children’s needs. My latest role was working as a Developmental
Specialist for the last two years with Southwest Human Development providing DIR Floortime, a
play-based approach for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder fostering child-led
interactions and engagement through play. Aside from my experiences, I enjoy spending time
with my family experimenting with slime recipes and browsing bookstores with a good coffee.

Thank you all for joining us this year and being a part of our community here at BESD
Preschool. I’m here to work alongside you to ensure your child meets their highest potential, all
while having fun and fostering a safe, comfortable environment for early childhood growth.

Our first event will be our Meet the Teacher Night on Monday, August 4th from 5:00-
6:30 pm. This night is for families to meet their student’s teacher, get acquainted with our
campus and get ready for the first day of school. School begins August 6th for the Community
preschool and our Early Intervention program will begin, Thursday, August 7th .

We hope to see you all soon and I’m looking forward to a stellar year of learning, fun
